«I can’t breathe!»

Poem: Sonnet, Georges Floyd

I am dead, I Georges Floy, today I’m gone.

Through a death that makes countless thousands mourn.

Behold! Man’s inhumanity to man

Caused my untimely death as a blackman.

But painfully, I cried out, “I CAN’T BREATHE!”.

As my life raced out faster to my death,

But the white cop’s inhumanity flew

To racial clouds, killed me then like a foe.

But why should I suffer such tragedy.

In tears, I’ve now left my family.

But to protesters in America,

Mourners beyond, inclusive Africa,

My death calls me for the end of racism,

Fight on and destroy supremacism.
